Jean Willis Wheless

Jean Willis Wheless, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died Friday, December 9, 2011. Born in Florence County, SC., on September 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Milby H. Willis. She worked many years at the former First and Merchants Bank of Newport News, Va., and after retiring made her home in North Myrtle Beach, SC., Greenville, NC., and Morehead City, NC.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Arthur B. Wheless of Morehead City; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Wheless Plasters and Charles Plasters of Newport, NC.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Plasters Rabon and husband Sidney , Catherine Plasters Imperial and husband Mark ; and great-granddaughters, Emily Rabon, Sarah Rabon, and Peyton Imperial. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Frank H. Wheless and wife Phyllis of Newport News, Va., and Albert E. Wheless and wife Jean of North Myrtle Beach, SC.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11:00 am Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Layton-Anderson Funeral Home in Timmonsville, SC. Visitation is one-hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army PO Box 305 Morehead City, NC 28557.
