Jean Hamrick

Jean Graves Hamrick, 73, of Morehead City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children, Friday, September 11, 2015 at Crystal Bluff Nursing Facility and Rehabilitation.
The family will receive friends 2:00 - 4:00 Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the home of John and Judi Creech, 409 Friendly Rd. Morehead City, NC 28557
Jean was born to Eugene and Louise Graves of Reidsville, NC, on November 16, 1941. After college she married her husband James H. Hamrick Sr. in 1978. They relocated to Carteret County, where they lived and raised a family and called it home. Until her death Jean was involved in several local business including Whispering Sands Realty, Jefferson Pilot Insurance, Sea Level Extended Care Facility, Morehead Nursing Center and finally the Whaler Inn Beach Resort.
She is survived by her one son, James Hamrick and wife Ami of Palatine, IL; two daughters, Libba Hamrick and husband Tom Hines of Newport and Lynn DeRosia and husband Neil of Cape Carteret; and two grandsons, Benjamin DeRosia and Aiden Beckwith; one grand daughter, Hannah Beckwith; also one Special Aunt Grace Rollins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hamrick; and parents, Eugene and Louise Graves.
