Jean Catharine Stewart Cappello, 66, of Port Orange, FL passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 25, 2017.
Her graveside service will be held Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. at her family’s plot in the Atlantic Community Cemetery, NC, officiated by Minister Adam Self.
Born in Massachusetts, June 14, 1951, to Victor Stewart and Viola Fulcher Stewart of Atlantic, NC; Jean was the oldest of three. She loved her siblings dearly, and had a special bond with her Aunt Libby. After living in Panama and completing school in the Canal Zone, Jean lived in Florida where she established lifelong friendships. She was a long-time employee for NASA and spent many years working in Human Resources where she really flourished. Jean was very creative and artistic. She enjoyed painting, and left her mark on everything she touched. She loved all dogs, especially her Wheatens, and was excited to continue her newest endeavor of becoming a dog trainer.
Jean was a strong spirit and took immense pride in providing for her family. She also enjoyed helping others. Her heart was full of love, strength and compassion; she was kind to all. She will be greatly missed by her family and so many friends. She will be forever loved, and never forgotten.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Frank Cappello of Port Orange, FL and his son, Michael Capello; daughter, Tanya Stewart Steck and husband, James Steck of Port Orange, FL; grandchildren, Victoria Steck and Sophia Steck of Port Orange, FL; brother, Jeb Stewart of Bradenton, FL along with his children Madeliz Almengo Peralta and Miguel Almengo Peralta; nephew, Michael Crouch, Portland, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by parents, Victor Stewart and Viola Fulcher Stewart; sister, Beth Stewart Thomas; aunt Libby Fulcher Nelson.
