Jason P. Gray

Jason P. Gray, 45, of Morehead City, NC entered into eternal rest on Feb 12, 2021, with his dog “Little Boy” by his side.

Jason was born on July 18, 1975 in Ann Arbor, MI to Peggy Dennison Gray and the late Patrick E. Gray of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Milan, MI. Jason graduated from Cox High School, Virginia Beach, VA in 1993 and joined the US Army after Graduation and attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Jason worked as a Fry Cook/Chef at Croaker’s & Anchor Inn Restaurant’s in Virginia Beach before moving to Morehead City, NC in 2005. After relocating to NC, he was multi-talented and worked in Restaurant’s, and various construction, warehouse, landscaping, and sales positions.  He worked as a Line Cook at Simple Eat’s Restaurant on Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA between December of 2015 and June 2016, when he stayed with his Mom, after his Dad’s death.

Jason enjoyed helping his girlfriend with projects around her home, lawn care, walking on the beach and collecting seashells when he wasn’t fishing and taking care of his cherished dog.

Jason will be deeply missed by his mother, Peggy Gray; and Jason’s girlfriend, Rebecca “Becky” Mozingo and his dog “Little Boy”.  Also, left behind to cherish his memory is his estranged sister, Linda Barboza, formerly of Virginia Beach; brother-in-law, Brian Barboza of Virginia Beach, VA; cousins, Wayne Hodges of Maybee, MI, Tracy Dunsmore of Willis, MI, Robert Gray, Donald Gray, Michael Greenway, Steven Greenway all of Michigan; nephews, Jacob Barboza and Justin Barboza, both of Virginia Beach, VA; uncles and aunts, Tom and Judy Gray, John and Connie Gray; aunt, Donna Kinne; maternal grandparents, Margaret and Ben Grant all of Milan, MI; and many friends, family members and former co-workers.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Patrick E. Gray; his paternal grandparents, John and Rita Gray, of MI; maternal grandfather, Lowell Dennison of MI; uncle, Garry Greenway; aunt, Mary Ellen Greenway of MI; uncle, Rick Kinne of Milan, MI; uncle, Larry Dunsmore of Willis, MI; and cousin, Phillip Hodges of Milan, MI.

Cremation has been arranged, and no formal services have been planned at this time.
