Janice Frances Rogers Kruer

Janice Frances Rogers Kruer of Morehead City, NC, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024.

Janice was born February 26, 1943, in High Point, NC. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Ranzy and Pauline Current Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her infant brother, Larry Rogers. She was formerly married to Bernie Kruer of Chandler, AZ. She is survived by several beloved and devoted family members and friends.

Janice graduated from High Point High School in 1961 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Guilford College. She later completed her graduate degree in Visual Arts Education at the University of South Florida and was elected Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Janice was also a member of the Artist Guild in Charleston, SC, the Junior League in Daytona Beach, FL and the Arts Forum in Morehead City, NC. Her work was displayed in many art exhibits.

Janice was an active member at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Morehead City until her health declined. Her life was devoted to teaching and developing an appreciation of the visual arts in her students. Janice enjoyed traveling, and the Greek Islands were her favorite. However, her true love was watercolor and oil still life painting along with reading and collecting seashells. Although she lived in several states, after retirement she returned to the place that she loved most, the Crystal Coast of the Outer Banks.

As Janice requested, there will be no funeral service and if desired, donations can be made in her memory to SECU Crystal Coast Hospice, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Newport, NC 28570.
