James "Jimmy" MacArthur Stainback

James “Jimmy” MacArthur Stainback, 75, of Atlantic, passed away Wednesday, April 17­, 2019, at Duke University Medical Center.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on  Friday, April 26, 2019, at Atlantic United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Daniel Melton and Rev. Ed Renfrow. Interment will follow at Atlantic Community Cemetery.

He loved people, riding around town talking with his friends in Atlantic, and going fishing. He had a real talent for problem solving, and making things work.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lynda Stainback of the home; brother, Larry William Stainback of Burlington; nephew, Mark Stainback of Burlington; niece, Julie Stainback Cates and husband Gene of Burlington; special person, Michelle Rivers of Snow Camp; and his two furry friends, Bonnie and Clyde.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Stainback and Lena Bryant Stainback.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. till 11 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Atlantic United Methodist Church.
