James "Jimmy" Edward Petty II

James “Jimmy” Edward Petty II, 61, of Morehead City, passed away peacefully Friday, November 15, 2019, at his home.

A memorial service for Jimmy will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 19, at Crystal Coast Church of the Nazarene, officiated by Reverend Justin Staten.

Jimmy was best known for his sincerity and welcoming demeanor. He owned and operated Jimmy’s Professional Auto Detailing and Ceramic Coating. Jimmy’s smile was infectious, and he had a talent for making people feel at ease. He was a devout Christian that lived his testimony and strove to be an example to others. He was a loyal and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Hilda Whitfield Petty of the home; son, Trey Murray and wife, Rebecca of Angier, NC; stepdaughter, Kansas Ferrell and husband, Bill of Rocky Mount, NC; grandchildren, Brylee Murray, Tanner Murray, and Will Ferrell; sisters, Linda Petty Householder of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Carolyn Petty Podger and husband, Kit of Cary, NC; brother, Gene Tillman Petty Jr. and wife, Betsi of Hubert, NC; and nieces and nephews, Alex Podger, Sara Podger, and Gene Petty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Tillman Petty and Harriet Clark Petty.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the Crystal Coast Church of the Nazarene immediately before the service.
