James "Jimmy" L. Johnson

James "Jimmy" Lee Johnson, 82, of Morehead City, passed away, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Croatan Ridge Nursing Home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Glad Tidings Church with Rev. Tim Marriner and Rev. Paul Loftin officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Glad Tidings Church, served as a usher and on the Bereavement Committee. He enjoyed going to Bojangles everyday, and getting a milkshake at El's Drive In.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Gail Johnson of the home; two daughters, Judy Mercer and husband Ed of Dunn, and Janet Hill of Newport; son, Kerry Johnson of Morehead City; step-son, Jan Lewis and wife Holly of Salter Path; special friends, James and Jean Doshier, and Walt and Margaret Walrath; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alena Johnson; daughter, Pat Acevedo; parents, Thomas and Nannie Johnson; and a sister, Wanda Godby.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
