James "Jim" Robinson

James "Jim" Robinson, 72, of Otway, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Munden Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Munford officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Mr. Robinson was born in Elkhorn City, KY in 1938, and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Master’s Degree in Business and Education. He served in the US Marine Corps, and moved to Carteret County in 1978, where he became a real estate appraiser and broker. He started a private real estate school which continued until 2008. He was a member of Otway Christian Church.
Mr. Robinson was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Vena Ramey Robinson of the home; daughters, Twylia Butt of Otway and Daphnee “Taffie” Whittemore of Otway; sisters, Eloise Belecher of Pikeville, KY, and Thelma Salyer of TN; and grandchildren, James Anthony Robinson, Aaron Butt, Bryan Butt, Brittney Whittemore, Brooke Whittemore, and Nicole Whittemore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Robinson and Emma Slone Robinson, and three brothers, Ray Robinson, Roy Robinson, and Elster Robinson.
The family will receive friends Monday 1 Hour prior to service at the funeral home.
