James “Jim” Robie Potts, III, 60, of Pine Knolls Shores, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Jim never worked a day in his life because he had a passion for his life’s work. He was quite the surfer in his younger years, proving that he had salt water in his veins. He was as laid back as anyone could be, enjoying walks on the beach, sunrises and sunsets. He loved to cook and was a chef in his own rite. Jim was a man of strong faith and had a zeal for life, but most of all, he was the best brother anyone could ever ask for. His life will forever live on in the memories of those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
He is survived by his sons, Logan Presch and Skylar Presch of Seattle, WA; stepmother, Terrell Potts of Wilmington; sister, Marie Potts of Pine Knoll Shores; nephew, Jackson Paul of Raleigh, NC; aunt and uncle, Teresa Evans and husband, Howard of Holly Ridge; cousin, Stacie Justice and husband, David of Surf City; lifelong “brothers” Ray Toler and Bill Rhodes; and his partner and companion, Chloe, his Black Labrador.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Potts, Jr., and Leslie B. Potts.
