Jim Garrison, 69, of Emerald Isle, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Carteret Health Care.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at St. Francis By the Sea Church in Salter Path with Father Everett Thomas officiating.

Jim attended Piedmont Community College and then went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy for four years. Upon returning, he worked at Sears and Roebuck in Charlotte for eight years and then at EDM Forms Company in Greensboro for twenty-three years. He was the proud owner, of twenty years, of Dreamscapes Landscape and Irrigation Company. Jim was a dedicated and hard worker which was evident in the work he did in our community.

Jim loved the game of golf. He was a family man, and a great entertainer, and as Patti and his girls always said Jim was the life of the party! His grandchildren lit him up every time he would see them. Jim let us know that it’s been a hell of a ride. From his daughter, Katy and Mindy, our Dad was our everything. We are forever grateful to of had such a fantastic father.

He is survived by his wife, Patti Garrison of the home; daughters, Katy Garrison Futral and husband Anthony Dale Futral of Cape Carteret and Mindy Garrison Bunger of Emerald Isle; grandchildren, Connor Futral, Benjamin Futral, Karly Ann Futral, and Mckensley Bunger; sister, Carol Ann Garrison Hunt of Greensboro, and; nieces, Caroline Hunt Kesler and Cornelia Hunt Shaw.
