Jim, as he was known to most, was born on July 20, 1960, in Iaeger, West Virginia, to the late Willard and Marie Dotson. He married Angela 20 years ago in New Bern, North Carolina, they've since enjoyed numerous vacations to the Crystal Coast. Jim adored his family who he loved spending time with, his love for his son was exceptional.
Known as a hardworking man, Jim, owned and operated his own landscaping business until he retired. Making people laugh and telling jokes was a true gift he happily shared.
If you spent any time with Jim, you were sure to get a good chuckle from one of his stories. Coming to the Crystal Coast was a dream come true for Jim. Fishing was his number one hobby, being on the water was peaceful and fishing was both challenging and relaxing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Dotson; son, Jacob James Dotson; sister, Linda Dotson of Tennessee; brother, Dexter Dotson (Marian) of Hillsville, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Sharon Dotson.
