James "Jim" Edwin Davis

Beloved husband and father, James "Jim" Edwin Davis, 67, of Havelock, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Carolina East Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernest Laxton officiating.

Jim retired Sgt. First Class US Army after 24 years of service. He was employed with the Metric Electronic Warfare Range in Atlantic, and he also retired as a Radar Technician. He enjoyed woodworking, watching old westerns and James Bond movies, and reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz novels.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 43 years Elke Krick Davis of the home; three children Sabrina Rassmusen and husband Scott of Graham, WA, Diana Golden and husband Randy of Havelock, and Steven Davis and wife Sarah of Newport; seven grandchildren Becky Davis, Tommy Davis, Katlyn Golden, James Golden,Kenzie Wilson,  Audrey Kaynen, Zachary Davis, and Liam Davis; several great grandchildren; a sister Kay Anderson and husband Andrew of Illinois; and a brother Donald Davis and wife Vera Jean of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by a son Thomas Davis, and his parents Donald and Martha Davis.

The family will receive friends following the service.
