James "Jamey" Guthrie, Jr.

James “Jamey” Guthrie, Jr., 56, of Newport, passed away Friday, May 31­, 2019.

His memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Free Grace Wesleyan Church, on Harkers Island, officiated by Pastor Clint Nelson.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Warrington Guthrie of the home; daughters, Jamie Lou Guthrie of Newport and Jessica Archie of Broad Creek; son, Kristopher “Boogie” Guthrie of Newport; mother, June Carolyn Guthrie of Williston; brothers, Kendall Guthrie of Jacksonville, FL and Stacy Guthrie and wife Kelli of Clayton; grandson, Nathan McDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Gordon Guthrie, Sr. and daughter, Brooke Christine Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
