James "Jim" Power

James Marion Power, 92, of Morehead City, previously of Charlotte, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Gethsemane Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Patterson officiating.

Mr. Power served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Romeos Club of Morehead City. He was also a member of The First Free Will Baptist Church of Beaufort and very active in The Gideons International sharing his love of the Lord Jesus Christ, his personal savior.

He is survived by his son, John F. Power; step-son, Timothy R. Price; step-daughter Catherine Price Hill; and many loving grandchildren .

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Helms Power; his parents, William Leroy Power and Ella Dorn Power; son David H. Power; and step-son, William J. Price.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in James’ name to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251
