James Edward McGee, IV

James Edward McGee, IV, 37, of Morehead City, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 after an extended illness.  Jim was born March 9, 1974 in Asheboro.  A graduate of Lee County Senior High School in 1992, Jim graduated from East Carolina University School of Business in 1996.
During his banking career, Jim worked for Bank of America in Hickory, SouthTrust Bank in Charleston, South Carolina, BB&T in Greenville, South Carolina, and East Carolina Bank in New Bern.  At the time of his death, Jim was an Admissions Representative at Miller-Motte College in Jacksonville.
Jim was a sensitive and kind-hearted individual who was loved dearly by his family and friends.  While he struggled with mental illness in his 30s, Jim never lost his keen intellect, wit, or loving nature.  Those of us who loved and supported Jim will truly miss his presence.
Jim is survived by his parents James Edward McGee, III and Mary Harrell McGee of Morehead City, his brother Charles Eugene McGee, sister-in-law Katherine Swartzel McGee, and niece Mariella Rose McGee of Asheville, his grandmother Ida Rose Harrell of Saratoga, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 2005 Arendell Street, Morehead City.
