James C. McCormick Sr., 76, of Morehead City, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Carteret Health Care.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Virginia.

James was employed by Glaxo Pharmaceuticals during the British Invasion. His sales allowed him to be in the President’s Club numerous times where he was also given various awards. The greatest joy of his employment career is when there was a medical breakthrough, allowing the children in the pediatric oncology unit of the University of Virginia Hospital to be able to eat again without becoming sick. He would buy McDonald’s Happy Meals for the patients, which earned him the nick name, “Mr. Happy Meal”.

James was an avid hunter, belonging to the Greenway Hunting Club in Virginia as well as an avid fisherman. “Baby Blue Eyes” and “Sweet baby James” were a couple of his nick names due to his beautiful crystal blue eyes. James was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
