James Cecil "Nook" Lawrence, 79, of Morehead City, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral will be held 10:00 am Saturday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Williams and Rev. Mitchell Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Nook was a member of the Elks and VFW.
He is survived by his wife Jaunita Lawrence of the home; and one daughter Patricia Ingram and husband Alan of Morehead City.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Minnie Lawrence, one brother Willie Lawrence, six sisters Gladys Gould, Margaret Dudley, Ethel Swindell, Eudora Elliott, Myrtle Pittman, and Armecia Elliott.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
