James Henry Corey, Jr

James "Jimmie" Henry Corey, Jr., 86, of Morehead City, passed away peacefully Monday, February 23, 2015 at Crystal Bluffs.
Jimmie was born May 25, 1928 in Washington, NC to the late James H. and Freddie Moore Corey. In 1950 he married Patricia Scott in Havelock, NC. He served in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. He returned to Civil Service at MCAS Cherry Point, retiring in 1983. Jimmie served as a Past Master of Masonic Lodge #688 Cherry Point.
Jimmie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and partner.
He is survived by daughter, Lisa Roberts, of Morehead City; son in law, Don Roberts of Durham, NC and grandson James Matthew Roberts and wife, Hamilton Freeman Roberts of Durham, NC. He leaves behind his partner of 15 years, Gayle Mitchener, Morehead City, NC.
In addition to his parents Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Scott Corey, daughter, Deborah L. Corey and son, James Scott Corey.
