James Thomas Boyd

James Thomas Boyd, 78, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away at his home on Monday, February 10, 2025.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, February 13th at Munden Funeral Home.

James was born on December 24, 1946, in San Fransico, California, to the late William and Audrey Boyd. As the owner of a general contracting business, James worked hard, taking great pride in his work and always gave his best in every endeavor.

A true outdoorsman at heart, he had a deep love for nature and animals. James also brought joy to many with his remarkable moves on the dance floor where his shag dancing skills reflected his enthusiasm for life. Nothing brought him greater joy than helping those in need, reflecting the kindness of his big heart. James had a zest for life that was truly infectious. 

James will be lovingly remembered as a devoted and supportive husband, a caring father, and a proud grandfather. 

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving daughter, Stephany Revich and husband Yuri of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Maureen Garner of Newport, NC; brother, Roger Boyd and wife Judy of New Bern, NC; and grandson, Boyd Revich.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Ann; siblings, Lillian Mills and Billy Boyd; and brother-in-law, Robert Garner.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
