James Best, 44, of Newport, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Carolina East Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Bordeaux officiating.
James is survived by his mother Bea Best of Newport; a son Chris Best of Newport; uncle Wink Best of Newport; stepsister Angie Mundy of Newport; stepdad Earl Mundy of Newport; and other family members.
Visitation will follow at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the James Best Family 136 Gloria Dawn Rd. Lot # 20 Morehead City, NC 28577.
