Jacqueline Rose (Derganc) Scaife

November 9, 1944 — September 26, 2021

Newport

On September 26, 2021, Jacqueline Rose Scaife, nee Derganc, went home to our Lord Jesus Christ. She was born on November 9, 1944, to Rudolph J. and Mary E. Derganc, nee Taylor, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Jackie was a native of Maple Shade, New Jersey, the second of four daughters born to Rudolph and Mary.

Her entire life was centered around family, especially her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jackie’s life-long passion and enjoyment included all saltwater activities. Her love for crabbing, clamming, and fishing was passed on to her from her wonderful dad, and she in turn passed it on to so many others. Her home on the lagoon in Little Egg Harbor and campsite in Baker’s Acres were go-to places for many throughout the years.

After spending most of her life in New Jersey, she and her husband, Jimmy, relocated to Newport, North Carolina.

She is survived by her loving husband, James W. Scaife; their children, Edward F. Cerwonka III (Jennifer), Jacqueline R. Quint (Marcus), and Shane W. Scaife (Ruth); their 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Donatucci, Delia DiBlasio “BSF”, and Judith Velletta; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Per Jackie’s request, there will not be a public service. Her wishes are for her ashes to be spread out over her absolute favorite place to be, the Great Bay in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey.
