Jacqueline Marcelle Hellersperk, 80, of Morehead City, passed away from cancer on August 31, 2018, quietly at home with her family.
There will be a celebration of life for family and friends at the Elks Lodge at 400 Miller Farm Road in Morehead City at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018.
Jacqueline was born on December 8, 1937 in Nimes, France to Jacque and Madeline (Viti) Bon. She performed for many years as a ballet dancer in the Ballet de Nimes, in Nimes, France, later traveling with an International Ballet. She met her husband, Steve Hellersperk, in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1966 where they were married. She followed her husband in his assignments throughout the world residing various years in Spain, China and India among others. Her smile and love of people made lasting friends all over the world.
Steve and Jacqueline moved to Morehead City in 2007 to be near their children. She was an avid bridge player and member of the Elks lodge.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 52 years, Steve Hellersperk, of the home; son, Stefan Gabriel Hellersperk and his wife, Carolyn Jones, of Newport; sister, Mireille Camp; brother, Gabriel Bon; and granddaughter, Amanda Hellersperk; plus, an extended family in Nimes, France.
Jacqueline is preceded in death by their younger son, Fabien and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Elks Lodge at 400 Miller Farm Road, Morehead City, NC 28557.
