Ivan "Bo" Gillikin, Jr.

Ivan “Bo” Gillikin, Jr., 56, of Otway, NC, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

His memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, NC, officiated by Pastor Manley Rose.

“Bo” was a talented, independently contracted carpenter for twenty-five years, owning his own business for half of that time. In recent years, he worked as a commercial fisherman catching sea-scallops in the North Atlantic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoorsman lifestyle. He was a good-hearted, proud, hardworking man. Bo’s family and friends will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Gillikin of Otway; father, Ivan Gillikin, Sr., of Newport; son, Curtis Ivan Gillikin and wife, Haley Johnson, of Beaufort; daughter, Shelby Batten and husband, Brian, of New Bern; sister, Theresa Taylor and husband, Andy, of Sea Level; grandchildren, Ethan Gillikin, Hannah Batten, and Taylor Batten; nieces Melissa and Amanda; nephews Jeffrey, Richard, and Charles.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Gillikin; son, James Mark Gillikin; sister, Cindy Gillikin; and granddaughter, Haylee Batten.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent as donations to any Hurricane Florence Relief and Cleanup funds.
