Irene “Kay” Pelletier Arthur, 78, of Bettie, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church in Bettie with Rev. Ray Gaskins and Rev. James Gurganus officiating.   Inurnment will follow at Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Kay worked as an office manager and dispatcher for Hills Gas.  She was an active member of Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church of Bettie for many years, where she was their organist and pianist.  An avid Cubs fans, she loved baseball and always attended her grandchildren’s ball games.  She was truly devoted to and loved her family.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Smith of Beaufort; son, Herman “Buddy” Arthur Jr., and wife Patty of Beaufort; grandchildren, Katie Fulton and husband Chuckie of Otway and Benjamin Arthur of Beaufort; sisters, Juanita Pake of Bettie, Reba Watson of Norwood, NC, Marylin Glidewell of Florida, and Joyce Gardner of Greensboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Herman L. Arthur, Sr.; and her parents, Ira and Margaret (Swinson) Pelletier.

The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crystal Coast Hospice House, PO Box 640, Newport, NC 28570.
