Irene Jones Mandarelli, 92, of Mill Creek, entered eternity with her Lord and Savior, Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday September 11, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church in Mill Creek with Reverend Douglas Randall officiating.  The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service.

Irene was born on December 26th, 1923.  She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a genuine friend to all that knew her. She had a beautiful faith in God and believed in spreading the light of his grace to everyone she met. She touched the lives of those around her and will always be in the hearts of those who were close to her.

In 1943, Irene met the love of her life, Michael Mandarelli, who was on a brief six week tour with the U.S. Army stationed in Morehead City. They married and moved to Michael’s home town in Providence, Rhode Island where they started a family and lived happily for 40 years.  In 1982, the couple retired and returned to Irene’s home on the river in Mill Creek, where they spent the rest of their years together.

She is survived by two daughters Janet Pecorelli and husband Richard of North Providence, RI, and Debra Peloffy and husband Andre of Morehead City; four grandchildren, Kristen Robinson and husband Franklin of West Hartford, CT, Matthew Pecorelli and wife Rebecca of Chicago, IL, Tara Meissner and husband Robert of Laguna Nigel, CA, and Lia Barfield and husband Marcus of Las Vegas, NV; five great-grandchildren, Franklin, Jonathon, Brooks, Tessa and Zander; her sister, Kay Whaley and sister-in-law Lawton Jones both of Mill Creek.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Michael Mandarelli; her parents,Theodore Jones and Ruby Rice Jones; step-mother, Rowena Winberry Jones; and brother Melvin Jones all of Mill Creek; and her beloved grand-dog “Muffin”.

The family would like to thank Lula George and Aaron Mauro for their dedication in caring for Irene and Michael.
