Howard Elden Marshall

October 24, 1927 — December 6, 2022

Newport

Howard Elden Marshall, 95, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

The family will celebrate his life privately.

Howard was born on October 24, 1927, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, to the late Lynn and Alma Marshall. Honorably serving in the United States Army, Howard was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington. With a life devoted to the Lord, the Word of God brought life to him, and he spent numerous hours poring over scripture that ministered to his soul. Happy memories for Howard included watching college football and eating a juicy grilled burger with a pile of onions.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Rae Geer of Tustin, CA; son, Barry E. Marshall and wife Barbara of Havelock, NC; grandchildren, Vanessa Gutierrez, Craig Geer, Ryan Marshall, Nichole Shaw and Kristen Marshall; and great-grandchildren, Addison Gutierrez, Emma Marshall, Hannah Marshall, Max Gutierrez, Lily Geer, and Levi Gutierrez.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 66 years, Petie Marshall; and grandson, Joe Geer.
