Howard Culverwell, 78, of Marshallberg, NC died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Culverwell served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated the Howards Welding Service in Durham, NC and moved to Carteret County soon after retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Culverwell of the home; five daughters, Donna Warren and husband, Dana of Durham, NC, Brenda Culverwell-Nguyen and husband Dang of Palm Harbor, FL, Connie Culverwell of Beaufort, Linda Galivan of Brookfield, IL, and Crystal Harris of Wheaton, IL; three (3) grandchildren, Nick Warren, Kaitlyn Warren, and Tanner Nguyen; also five grandchildren in Illinois; special nephew, Rodney Tingen of Durham, NC; and his canine companions, “Mackmack” and “Charlie”.
He was prececed in death by his parents, Howard and Frieda Culverwell, and sister, Betty Ryerson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carteret County Humane Society, PO Box 357, Newport, NC 28570.
