Horace Beaman Gaskill

Horace Beaman Gaskill, 86, of Sea Level, died Friday March 1, 2013 at Snug Harbor.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Harris officiating . Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. Following the interment the family will receive friends at the home of Ann O'Conner 109 Fairway Ct. in Brandywine Bay.
Horace was a retired Merchant Marine. He enjoyed tinkering, and he was a gentle-spirited man, and a loving family man. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Dorothy S. Gaskill of the home: three daughters Kay Damren and husband Douglas of Robersonville, Virginia Jones and husband Tommy of Marshallberg, and Ann O'Conner of Morehead City: a son Freddie Gaskill of Cedar Island: grandchildren Ray Payne, Mark Damren, Tisha Garner, Shannon Harris, Jennifer Pogatchnik, Travis Garner, Faith Ann Piner, and Stewart Payne: thirteen great grandchilden: and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents David and Estelle Gaskill and a son Harold Monroe Gaskill.
Visitation will be 5:30-7:00 pm Saturday at Munden Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the staff of Snug Harbor for the care and compassion they extended Mr. Gaskill the past seven years.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Employee Assistance Fund at Snug Harbor 272 Hwy 70 Sea Level, NC 28577.
