Hilda Marie (Sledge) Rogers
March 4, 1941 — May 6, 2012
Hilda Marie Sledge Rogers, 71, of Morehead City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 6th.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Johnson and Rev. Larry Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Hilda was the second daughter of six children born to Robert and Ruth Sledge of Spring Hope, NC. She was a devoted wife and mother of her three children who were the love of her life.
She retired from the NC State Ports with 29 years of service. She grew up on a farm and was a hard worker. A straight A student, she was in the Beta Club at Bunn High School. Her interest were painting, crocheting and going to the mountains, most importantly was being with her family, children and great-grandchildren. She loved singing in the choir at Temple Baptist Church for 32 years.
Her survivors include her husband, Willis of 25 years, her daughter, Sheila Pedersen and her husband Kenny, her son, Gerald Wilson, Jr. (Bud) and wife Carolyn, her son, Timothy Wilson and wife Suzy, her grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Stacey and Jared Pedersen, Brooke and Tyler Wilson, her twin great-grandbabies, Willis and Kendall Pedersen. Her sister, Annie Ruth and husband G.J. Perry of Raleigh, sister, Doris and husband Buddy Fisher of Wilmington, her brother, George and wife Phyllis Sledge of Samaria, NC, sister, Sue and husband Bill Gregory of Spring Hope, NC, baby sister, Donna and husband Tom Gaddy of Zebulon, NC, and many loving nieces and nephews,
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert and Ruth Sledge, and her niece, Pamela Cone Pippin.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home.
