Hilda Mae (Murphy) Newbry

Hilda Mae Newbry, 87, of Otway, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Crystal Bluffs.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Davis Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at Murphy Family Cemetery.
Hilda was a member of Davis Free Will Baptist Church. She held a position with the Pentegon during teh Vietnam Conflict and served our Country's Government for 35 years. She sold real estate while she resided in Virginia, and after retiring to Jacksonville, FL she sold Avon, and in 2005 she moved back home to Carteret County to be with her family.
She is survived by a daughter Maureen McManus of Beaufort; a son Kelly McManus and wife Mary of Beaufort; step-children Kathy Liane and husband David of Florida, Nanette Dowdy and husband Richard California, and Colleen Elkins and husband Steve of California; ten grandchildren Jeffery L. Smith, Jr., April Bundy, Tabitha Thomas, Kimberly McManus, Cody Inman, Christian Pittman, Michael Pittman, Shannon Dowdy, Brody Elkins, Tucker Elkins, Chris Dowdy, and Rich Dowdy; eight great grandchildren; sister Marie Sikorski and husband Nick of Raleigh;and a brother Cecil Ray Murphy and wife Helene of Morehead City.
She is preceded in death by her husband USN Lt Com. (Ret.) Lewis Newbry, two great grandchildren Alyssa, and Ryan, and a sister Christine Morris.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
