Herman Kurt Heins

Herman Kurt Heins, 74, of Newport, passed away Friday, May ­4­, 2018 at his home.

Herman proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was known throughout the community through his business, Heins, Inc. which he owned and operated for 30 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Heather Amber Lyons and husband, Chuck, of Newport, Kelly Ann Hodges and husband, Bobbie, of Newport, Kristin Noel Carlson of Newport; son, Edward James Heins of Schenectady, NY; sister, Gail Elsie Heins of Gloversville, NY; and grandchildren, Matthew Noble Carlson, Tommy Dean Hodges, Steven James Hodges, Joshua Van Maxwell, Elijah Isador Lyons, Gracie Anne Love Badders, Seth Owen Christian Badders, Megan Eden, Sarah Ellithorpe and Caitlin Hudson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Heins and his parents, Herman Henry Heins and Elsie Heins.
