Henry Brooks

Henry Allen Brooks, 83, of Morehead City, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 4, 2017 at The Morehead City Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Arne Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Henry retired from civil service at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station after 35 years. He then worked part time at the Carteret County New Times for several years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will truly be missed.
Henry is survived by wife, Mattie Davis Brooks; children, Kevin Brooks and wife Pam, Kara Matthews and husband Matt, and Ashley Brooks and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Trent Brooks and wife Kristen, Morgan Brooks, Brooke Jones and husband Trent, Peyton and husband Michael Johnson, Wren Brooks and Aly Brooks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gordon and Nettie (Lewis) Brooks; sisters, Edna Earl Scott, Ora Nona Rose, and Letha Pearl Johnson; and brothers, Claude Brooks, Livingston Brooks, Curvis Brooks and Joseph (JB) Brooks.
The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
