Hemsuta Ashok Shah, 64, of Newport, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern NC

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday,  August 2, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home. Friends are welcome to attend the service. For those unable to attend, the family invites you to view the webcasting of the service through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home. Additionally, there will be a limit to the number of people in the building at one time, as well, those who attend will be asked to bring and wear a protective mask. Hemsuta was born on August 16, 1955, in Surat, Gujarat in India to the late Dhanraj and Manjulaben Gandhi. In 1995, Hemsuta immigrated to the United States of America.

She is survived by her husband, Ashok Shah of the home; daughter, Nipa Tolat and husband Dhairya of Cary, NC; son, Bhavyesh Shah  and wife Rajvi of Newport; brothers, Dilip Gandhi, Vijay Gandhi and Rakesh Gandhi; grandchildren, Ansh Tolat, Ashi Shah, Shreeya Tolat and Aria Shah; and many loving cousins.
