Helen Wells (Smith) Robinson

September 22, 1926 — August 25, 2013

Helen Smith Robinson, 86, of Atlantic, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 peacefully at home surrounded by family.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Atlantic Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Anderson and Rev. Terry McInnis officiating. Interment will follow at Atlantic Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Robinson retired from N.C. Department of Transporation at Cedar Island Ferry. She was a member of Atlantic Missionary Baptist Church. Our Mother loved to cook, the bigger the crowd the happier she was.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Stines of Atlantic and Peggy Smith and husband Ernie of Maysville; two sons, Wayne Robinson and wife Belinda of Atlantic and Mark Robinson and wife Cindy of Sea Level; daughter-in-law, Judy Robinson of Atlantic; nine grandchildren, Laura Goodwin and husband Charles of Sea Level, Jodi Hamilton and husband Richie of Sea Level, Wendy Cahoon and husband Jimmy of Davis, Amber Davis of Atlantic, Corbett Davis and wife Becky of Gloucester, Phillip Robinson of Ridge, MD, Scott Robinson of Sea Level, Kenneth Robinson and wife Heather of Wilson, and Keegan Robinson of Atlantic; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Alma Nelson of Atlantic; sister-in-law, Janice Smith of Atlantic; also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood Robinson, son, James Ellis Robinson, parents, Luther and Helen Smith, two brothers, Lester Smith and Billy Smith, and a son in-law Dick Stines.
