Heinrich "Eddie" Edward VanGosig

Heinrich "Eddie" Edward VanGosig, 65, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Cherry Point Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on April 9, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York, Eddie was the son of the late Frederick and Ann VanGosig. He and his 6 siblings were lovingly raised by the late Felix and Paula Fontanez.

From a young age, Eddie had a passion for automobiles, which led him to a fulfilling career as a mechanic. Eddie dedicated 40 years to AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in New York, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and customers alike.

Eddie will be warmly remembered as a loving brother and father by his family. He is survived by his son, Edward Anthony VanGosig of Jacksonville, NC; sisters, Millie Fontanez of Ocala, FL, Susan Benintende and husband Mike of Ocala, FL, Linda More of Texas, and Annie Garratano of Jackson, NY; brother, Robert VanGosig and his wife Pamela of Newport, NC; and his side kick, his dog, Lulu.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret VanGosig and sister, Dianna Ayala.
