Heather Amber Lyons

Heather Amber Lyons, 58, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

Heather was born on October 14, 1965, to the late Herman and Marilyn Heins. Born and raised in Upstate New York, she moved to Eastern North Carolina when she was 18 years old.

Well-known throughout Carteret County as a talented painter and artist, Heather's work touched the hearts and souls of all who encountered it. Her artistic spirit knew no bounds, and Heather found joy in exploring the vivid colors of sunrises to delicate brushstrokes that brought to life the intricacies of nature. Heather's murals and talent not only adorned the walls but also became a testament to the beauty that can be found in even the simplest moments of life.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Charles Lyons; sons, Joshua Maxwell and Elijah Lyons, both of Newport, NC; sister, Kelly Hodges (Bobbie Jr.) of Newport; and Ed Heins of Schenectady, NY.

In addition to her parents, Heather was preceded in death by her sister, Kristin Carlson.
