Heather Mcleod Vickers Kepski, 33, of Newport.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Munden Funeral Home.

Born on April 24, 1983, Heather departed our world in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 18th. She passed where she lived, in our home. Like a lovely star, she faded with the dawn.

All pain and suffering, all anxiety and loneliness, are behind her now. She is pristine, a perfect point of light as she swims eternity’s broad sea clasped forever to her mother’s breast.

She is a 2001 graduate of West Carteret High School and attended The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Carteret Community College, most recently studying veterinary assistance following her great love of animals.

She is survived by her mother and father, Helen and Bill Vickers, of Morehead City; paternal grandparents, Janet and Richard Barr, Morehead City; husband, Julien Kepski, Avon, NC; her dear Aunt Marie and husband Charlie, of Knoxville, TN; paternal uncle Larry Vickers and wife Karen Ann, of Asheville; paternal uncle Tom Vickers and wife Melissa, and her young cousins, Madeline and Daphne, of Morehead City; cousin Brinley Richard and husband Greg and their two young sons, cousins Sebastian and Kai, of Natick, MA; cousin Les Gatto, Jr. and wife Leigh and their two young ones, cousins Luke and Lilli, of Knoxville, TN; cousin Luther Hamilton Vickers of Emerald Isle; cousin Ella Vickers and her partner Tony and their children, young cousins Mellia and Oliver, of Ogden, NC; and cousin Amanda Vickers and her partner Wallace of Asheville.

“The road she walks on is paved in gold

And it’s always summer, She’ll never get cold.

She’ll never get hungry,

And never get old and gray.

You can see her shadow walking off somewhere.

She’s happier there today.”

… based on a song, The Way
