Curt loved the outdoors, including hunting, and fishing. He was an artist and brought his love of the outdoors to life through carving decoys, and shore birds. Some of his best memories were teaching others to carve. As one young man shared " learning to carve a decoy from Mr. Curt, was like learning to hit a baseball from Babe Ruth". He was proud to be a founding member of the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild and kept traditions alive.
