Harvey Edgar Tillman

Harvey Edgar Tillman, 85, of Newport, died Wednesday November 28, 2012, at Taylor Extended Care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Harvey served his country in the US Navy, and he was a WWII veteran. He owned and operated Western Auto Store in Havelock, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Havelock. He was very active in his community service prior to his retirement. Following his retirement he enjoyed traveling, clamming, floundering, and working in his garden.
He is survived by three children Kathleen Johnson and husband Clay of Fayetteville, Harvey Edgar Tillman, II., of Houston, TX, and Glenn M. Tillman and wife Tina of Newport, NC: six grandchildren Glenn Moss Tillman, II, Ellen Alexandra Tillman, Brantley Chandler Johnson, Julia Chandler Tillman, Kathleen Sarah Tillman, and Harvey Edgar Tillman,III: one great granddaughter Sefina Grace Tillman: brother Linton "Sandy" Tillman and wife Gail of Greensboro, NC: and a sister Susanne Cattrano, NY.
He was preceded in death by his wife Polly Chandler Tillman, and his parents Linton and Julia Tillman.
