Harvey Darrell Davis

Harvey Darrell Davis, 93, of Davis, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at Snug Harbor on Nelson Bay.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 27, 2015 at Davis Original Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Wall, Jimmie Mercer, and Rev. Karen Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Murphy Cemetery in Davis.
Mr. Davis retired from Cherry Point as a chemical engineer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and attended Davis Original Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by four daughters, Virginia Stratton of Iowa City, IA, Phyllis Willis of Davis, Lennie Saunders of Atlantic, and Iva Stratton of Pickens, SC; ten grandchildren, Jeffery Salter, Sr., Chris Salter, Joe Willis, Andrea Taylor, Christina McConnell, Jennifer Stinnett, Shelly Wilson, Erica Hyland, Freddie Valadez, and Danielle Merlino; twelve great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, niece, Leida Guy Copperthite; and sister-in-law, Iva Davis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Luna Mae Davis.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at the church.
