Harry J. Scheidy Jr.

Harry J. Scheidy Jr., 82, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 30^th at First Presbyterian Church.

Harry was born on September 5, 1941, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, to the late Harry James Scheidy Sr. and Alice Louise Ittner Scheidy. With a career marked by meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, he had a successful tenure with the Department of Defense where he worked until his retirement.

Remembering the days of his youth with great fondness, Harry found joy in his extensive collection of electric train sets that never failed to bring a smile to his face. A proud fan of the Baltimore Ravens, he appreciated their defensive excellence and rich history of success. He expressed his creativity through photography and the hands-on process of developing film in his darkroom. Harry had a deep appreciation for music, particularly the elegance of the organ's melody and the strength of voices coming together; singing in the church choir at First Presbyterian Church was a highlight of his days. 

Harry is survived by his cousins, Lore C. Salata of Warminster, PA, and Pete Carter of Pauma Valley, CA; along with his dear friends, John Wheeler and Sunnie Gail Ballou.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Kiseleski; after her passing, he was blessed with love again and married Candy J. Cole who passed away in 2022. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to First Presbyterian Church for their Music Fund, 1604 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC 28570.
