Harry Vernon Hardy

Harry V. Hardy, 98, of South River, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at Carteret Memorial Gardens with Rev. Harold H. Harbin, Jr. officiating.
Harry was a mason for 75 years, a member of Edwards Free Will Baptist Church, and attended Merrimon United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter Gilda Hardy Hollar and husband Mark of Kinston, NC; a son Craig Hardy and wife Lees of South River, NC; three grandchildren Charles Hardy Davis and wife Erin Heenan of Washington, DC, Susan Carraway Hardy of Charlottesville, VA, and Benjamin Craig Hardy and wife Elena of Sabastopol, CA; a brother in-law Tom Carraway and wife Selma of Beaufort; 26 nieces and nephews; and caregivers Margo Reels, Monya Pake, and Bea Cole.
He was preceded in death by his wife Adilee Carraway Hardy, parents Benjamin G. and Laura G. Hardy, one brother Harvey Hardy, and four sisters Ada Mae Harris, Christine Dodge, Thelma Pittman, and Mary Brinkley.
