Gregory Leigh Wrenn, 65, of Morehead City, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Greg was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Wrenn, Jr. and the late Margie Ann Black Wrenn. He was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, and graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 1977. He worked a variety of jobs before he began his employment with the Department of the Navy in 1989 at Norfolk (VA) Naval Air Station. Greg retired from Fleet Readiness Center East at MCAS Cherry Point (NC) in 2019.
Although he was an only child, Greg had many brothers, including Tony Bradley, the late Jerry Aycock, Ellis Braswell, Blue Gateley, Jerry Nichols, Big Ray Vinson, Steve Roy, Bob Lucent, and Joe Materna.
Greg loved the Lord, his family and friends, rock and roll and the blues, German Shepherd dogs, football and the Washington Redskins, and motorcycles. He was proud of his Scottish heritage.
Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, Greg is back in the wind at last.
Greg is survived by Lori, his beloved wife of 42 years; son, Daniel; daughter-in-law, Adriana; grandsons, Greyson and Adrian; as well as his aunt, Jane Black Gorris; several cousins; sisters-in-law, Carol, Susan, and Margie; brothers-in-law, Jack, Edmund, and Bob; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Reverend Patrick Whaley, Karen, Shelby, Holly, Natalie, Connie, Belen, Suni, Shamil, Mandy, Connie, Sherry, Sheila S., and Dominique — Hospice was a Godsend.
