Gregory Lee Smith, 64, of Newport, died Thursday March 15, at Carolina East Medical Center.
A memorial srvice will be held
He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, and retired from the US Marine Corp.
He is survived by his fiance Tammy Strickland: two brothers Jerry W. Smith of Morehead City, and Edward C. Smith of Camden, NC: two nephews John R. Smith of Raleigh, NC and Timothy C. Smith of Greenville, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bud and Ruth Smith, and a daughter Heather Jean Smith.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Cancer Society 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville, NC 27834.
