Gregoria “Goreng” Principe

Gregoria “Goreng” Principe, 81, of Havelock, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the Gardens of Pamlico Assisted Living.

Her funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, November 13, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed the following day on her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. Gregoria, or Goreng as she was most fondly known, was born on November 29, 1939, to the late Pio and Feliciana Arigore. Born and raised in Philippines, she and her family later moved to the United States of America in 1987 where they lived in Brooklyn, New York. In the mid 1990’s they moved to Craven County, North Carolina where she worked, until her retirement, in the Housekeeping Department at the Naval Health Clinic at Cherry Point.

In her free time, she enjoyed the creativity of cooking and the joy it provided as she shared her special dishes with friends and family. Gardening was another relaxing and satisfying activity that always brought a smile to her face.

She is survived by her children, Rosalinda Leahy of Melbourne, Australia, Eloisa Able of New Bern, and Julie Nintzel and husband Bob of New Bern; daughter-in-law, Neneth Principe of Marikina, Philippines; grandchildren, Jheramy Principe, Richard Principe, Richelle Rollins, Jandra Principe, Lovely Ann Principe, Quio Principe, Stephanie Dunlop, Jason Leahy, Christopher Leahy, Aubry Able, and Allison Able; and great grandchildren, Angelina Dunlop, Alexander Dunlop, Aurora Dunlop, Juliana Weeks, Oliver Keen, Addison Sleighten, and Zoe Rollins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Onofre Principe; son, Alejandro Principe; and siblings, Rosa Catiis, Miling Cleofas, Dionisio Arigore, and Ela Ventura.
