Grace Byrd

Grace W. Byrd, 87, of Morehead City, died Friday, June 4, 2010, at Harborview Health Care Center.
Mrs. Byrd was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She, along with her late husband, Melvin Byrd, worked for many years as owner and operator of Byrd's Metal Works.
Graveside services will be held 4:00 pm Sunday at Gethsemane Memorial Park with Rev. David Phelps officiating.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean B. Swinson and husband Linwood of Morehead City; son, Jimmy Byrd and wife, Janet, three grandchildren, Steve Swinson and wife Renee, James Melvin Byrd, Jr. and wife Shea and Dawn Byrd Humphries and husband Ken and six great grandchildren, McKenna Swinson, Zachary Swinson, Taylor Byrd, Logan Byrd, Jesse Humphries and Samuel Humphries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Byrd and a grandson, Reginald Swinson.
The family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:30 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home.
