Gordon M. Rouse Jr., 70, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
A funeral service to honor Gordon’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 12th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Brother Bob Lowery. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Gordon was born on April 20, 1954, in Grifton, NC, to the late Bill and Virginia Rouse. He dedicated his life to hard work and took great pride in providing for his family.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Gordon had a deep love for football, especially as a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, and he thoroughly enjoyed watching NASCAR races. His outgoing nature made him a true people person; he found joy in connecting with others and was always ready to chat on the phone, catching up with friends and family.
Gordon's warm and welcoming spirit meant that he never met a stranger, and his kindness and tender heart were evident in his willingness to help anyone in need. His vibrant personality, humor, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Gordon will be remembered fondly for the countless ways he touched the lives of those around him. Words can’t describe how much he will be missed and how greatly he was loved.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Joanne Marion of Newport, NC; loving daughter, Ginger Piner (Danny) of Newport, NC; step-sons, Jonathan Marion and Jamie Marion; grandchildren, Brandon Chambers (Alexa), Kymberly Rouse, and Collin Rouse; great-grandchildren, Kyren, Kaylee, Remington, and Kolton; niece, Pam Morris (Timmy); bonus family, Renee Dudley, Bonnie Baysden, and Jacob Lewis; and many friends that were as close as family.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Rouse.
