Gordon A. Marks

Gordon "Mr. Gordon" A. Marks, 89, of Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Carteret Health Care.

A celebration of life will be held for Gordon A. Marks and his longtime companion, Tina Tew, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Saturday, November 19th, on the waterfront at his home.

Gordon was born on June 6, 1933, in Butner, North Carolina. Coming from a large family of boys, he and his 4 brothers all served in the United States Army. Gordon was a proud and heroic veteran of World War II. After retiring as a mechanic from RJ Reynolds, Gordon moved to Atlantic Beach. With his kind heart and helping hand, Gordon was well-loved and quickly became known as the mayor of the neighborhood. Moving to the coast fulfilled his favorite pastime of fishing which also included annual trips to Alaska for great salmon fishing.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and the love of his life, Tina Tew.
