Gloria “Mama Liz” Elizabeth Willis, 78, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, and she is now at peace in her heavenly home.

Liz, affectionately known as “Mama Liz” was born on October 2, 1946, in Morehead City, NC, to the late Otis Earl Kittrell and Lois Mae Kittrell. Her deep love for the Lord was reflected in the beautiful life she led, marked by the cherished relationships she built with friends and family. 

Liz had a long and fulfilling career in Civil Service at Cherry Point, where she served diligently as a Production Control Supervisor. Her dedication and hard work were evident in all she accomplished.

In her leisure time, Liz enjoyed relaxing in front of the TV, enjoying all her favorite shows, especially the classic Westerns. 

Mama Liz leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her very special friend who she loved like a daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Burden and husband Frank of Newport, NC; and her sister, Julia Miller of Tallahassee, FL

In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy" Ottis Willis Jr.; son, Thomas Howard Geisler Jr.; sister, Lily Hindman; and her many beloved dogs, Roxie, Bennie Boy, Dink Dink, and Minzie.
